The glove box referred to here is a fully enclosed cavity that completely isolates the environment inside and outside the cavity. One side of the cavity is equipped with a window and gloves. The operator uses the gloves to manipulate the materials in the cavity. The glove box has many uses. 1) When working with toxic and hazardous materials, the glove box can protect the operator and the environment; 2) When the atmospheric environment materials such as bacteria and dust will contaminate the material, the glove box can be used as an isolation box The material outside the body protects the material in the box from pollution; 3) When air interacts with the material and affects the performance of the material, the glove box can be filled with inert gas. The box is used to isolate the air outside the box and protect the material in the box. The material is protected from air pollution such as H2O, oxygen, and sometimes even nitrogen. The last device is called an inert gas glove box, which provides an inert gas environment for the materials to be handled.

Non-standard single station glove box

There are three types of inert gas glove boxes:

A) Vacuum glove box: Before operation, vacuum the entire box body to completely remove the air in the box body, and then fill it with high-purity gas for use. Advantages: cheap equipment. Disadvantages: The content of H2O and oxygen impurities is high, usually above 100PPM.

B) Cleaning the glove box: The glove box is continuously vented with nitrogen, and the gas impurities leaking into the glove box are continuously cleaned out of the glove box. Advantages: cheap equipment. Disadvantages: high operating costs, and a large amount of inert gas is required. The content of H2O and oxygen impurities is usually above 10PPM.

C) Circulating glove box: The glove box is equipped with gas purification gas, and the gas in the glove box continuously circulates through the gas purification system to remove H2O oxygen and organic solvent impurities. Advantages: low operating cost, low H2O and oxygen content, usually less than 1PPM; including PLC and touch screen, multiple functions. Disadvantages: higher equipment prices.

Here, the above third inert gas circulation glove box is referred to as glove box.
