This article focuses on the safety operations related to the glove box system, as well as measures to avoid unnecessary injuries.

1. Please make sure that all pipelines are properly and firmly connected and that there are no safety hazards such as leakage of the working gas source. Observe the use of gas regularly and keep records. If there is any abnormality, check and repair it in time. The first installation of the equipment must be Etelux’s service personnel.

2. Safety precautions. Please carefully treat chemicals, corrosives and solvents. For samples that are flammable, explosive, or toxic, here are some guidelines for chemical materials:

a) Follow relevant safety regulations as well as principles of safe material handling and recommendations provided by other suppliers;

b) Wear appropriate protective safety masks and gloves for handling chemicals, corrosives or solvents;

c) All containers of chemical substances and containers for waste products are properly labeled and marked with warning signs;

d) Ensure that the room is ventilated;

e) Have appropriate respiratory apparatus protection to prevent inhalation of harmful gases to avoid the risk of asphyxiation;

f) Not to intake food or drinks while handling chemicals to avoid the risk of poisoning;

3. Fire Prevention  

a) Keep away from all sources of ignition;

b) Prohibit smoking in the laboratory;

c)Equipped with fire-fighting equipment;

4. Electrical safetyLab2000 glove box is operating under AC 220V 50Hz power supply requirements, please ensure the safety and stability of the power supply. It should avoid direct or indirect contact with the wire connection part to avoid possible electric shock.

5. Protective measures for the equipment

a) The normal condition of the glove box requires 7 × 24h cycle operation;

b) Avoid frequent start and stop of circulating fans and vacuum pumps;

c) Circulating fan noise should immediately stop the cycle and check the cause;

d) If water and oxygen content remains high, it is recommended to stop for maintenance;

e) Carefully use, and prohibit violent knocking.

6. Common sense

Generally not recommended for two or more people to operate at the same time, there may be some improper operation or mutual failure to communicate and leave safety hazards. If two or more people operate at the same time, please make sure that each person’s respective tasks and can not affect each other.

7. Treatment of emergencies

a) Turn off the main power supply and unplug it immediately;

b) Close the main valve of the working gas source;

c) Treat the experimental samples in the glove boxes with care;

d) Refer to the principles of safe handling of materials, or contact the appropriate emergency response personnel in the area;

e) Before restarting the unit, it must be thoroughly inspected to ensure safety by contacting the Etelux after-sales service department to direct service.
