As for replacing oil-sealed mechanical pumps, the general saying is: it can work in the pressure range from atmospheric pressure to 10-2Pa; in the pumping flow path (such as the pump chamber), no oil or liquid can be used. A pump whose air port is connected to the atmosphere and can continuously exhaust air into the atmosphere is called a dry vacuum pump (also known as an oil-free vacuum pump). This confirms that the air pumping of the dry pump is no longer contaminated by oil. Some dry pumps still use lubricating oil in their structural design, such as the pump’s transmission gears and bearings. They also use synthetic oils, such as PFP oil and its greases, and certain measures are taken to prevent oil vapor from existing in the pump cavity.
